Window coverings for sliding glass door in master bedroom?
We are in the process of buying a newly built home.I'm just not sure what we should do for the bedroom sliding glass doors!A friend of mine suggested we could do curtains.I think we could also do plantation shutters (they did that on the sliders in our rental house) but honestly, we never open them because we have a chair in the way.I've attached a picture of the room.

Glass Doors Define The Bedroom In This Small Apartment
Photography by Andre AvdeenkoIf you live in a small apartment, having a bedroom inside its own separate walled-in room will make an already small apartment seem even smaller. However, you’ll probably still want to define the bedroom area as its own distinct space. One way of doing this is to use glass doors.Photography by Andre AvdeenkoAnd that is exactly what Nataly Bolshakova Design Studio did with the bedroom in this apartment. They used dark tinted sliding glass doors to separate the bedroom from the living area, allowing the bedroom to have its own dedicated space, and at the same time not having a full solid wall, so light and views can still pass through.
This 64Sqm Apartment Reimagines Space Using Partitions and Sliding
Renovating a small apartment is a tricky affair that demands balance between aesthetics, ergonomics, and of course, space maximization. The homeowners wanted an open, central living space without partitions, a space that allowed them to host friends and family without having to struggle to create a ‘social zone’.This was done by doing away with all internal partitions and creating a stylish living area that also holds the small dining space and a corner workstation.By simply moving the furniture, this common area can be turned into a ‘party space’ with ease, even as translucent partitions and sliding glass doors hide the bedroom and the kitchen station. It is large sliding doors that connect the two bedrooms with the new living area, and while they offer complete privacy, the use of these translucent glass doors also allows for a free flow of natural and artificial light.
Curtain Ideas for Sliding Glass Door in Master Bedroom
We bought our house in May, but opted to remodel Master Bath as soon as we moved in.Consequently, we haven't "lived" in Master Bedroom yet.As the bathroom is nearing completion we started moving furniture into the Master.I love all the light we get from the sliding doors, but we live in TX so the room is really hot.We ended up putting the original curtains (hello 1980s) that came with the house just for the interim. The door is 96" wide and currently the curtain rod is 90" off the ground. The existing curtains are close to 12 feet wide, but I'm thinking we should go for curtains closer to the width if the door to make that wall seem bigger.

We just painted our master bedroom a light gray (Dunn Edwards Porpoise) with white trim.We removed the (hideous) old beige honeycomb shades from the sliding glass door. What type of window treatment would you recommend and what color?I was thinking simple white drapes, one full panel on each side of the door with a matching roman shade on the small window. My husband thinks that is too boring.

Sliding glass door or window?
Here's the issue: there is a sliding glass door in the left (sliding from left to right) - and then an "80's" style crisscross window to the right.Ideally, I'd love to get one huge sliding window/door - but those are thousands.I'm thinking of having our handyman pop in another matching sliding glass window on the right.A friend suggested plantation shutters over crisscross window - but that blocks the view.Lastly, I could just install a new window without crisscross and add moulding - but that's the same price as adding another sliding glass door.
