Framing Out A Mirror That's Mounted On A Door

The basic plan was: remove mirror, reattached with glue (so plastic clips wouldn’t be in the way of trim), cut molding with miter saw, and glue to door around mirror.We picked up this Liquid Nails Mirror Adhesive at Lowe’s for about $5.

With Sherry’s help, we put the mirror in place, pressed it down and left it alone to dry for 72 hours.

Well, re-reading the directions on the back of the mirror adhesive offered some clues.They went into the door nice and solidly, and the head provides a nice little rest/stop for the mirror.

Would you do a sliding closet door makeover at your house?

Hang a full length mirror on recessed panel door

All the doors in my bedroom have recessed panels (see photo).I need to attach a full length mirror to one of them, but CANNOT hang it over the door (I e hooks that goes over the top of the door).How can I attach this with the recessed panels?

We then stained all the boards to match our existing oak doors and trim throughout the house.For door handles, we put in rectangular door pulls.Drill out the area to the dept of your door pull; our pulls were 1/4″ deep so that is the depth of the cut (photo 2).

Finally, use construction adhesive to glue your door pull in place (photo 4)!The very last step was to add oak trim above the door to conceal the hanging kit (seen in first photo).

Mirrors with no doors?

I'm pretty happy with my mirrors, Luke.I can also tighten the bolt at the hinge mount, although I'm not sure how that would work with the quick release setup.

As for visibility, obviously both sides are fine with the doors off.

Doors on, the driver's side is fine but I do lose a small slice on the passenger side (see below).I'm thinking of adding a round convex mirror in the lower outboard corner of both mirrors, just in case.

Finally, we have been able to redo our ugly closet doors.I found 22 -12″ x 12″ mirrors on Facebook Marketplace for $30.

I had a bunch of leftover scrapbook paper from 2008, which at 12″ x 12″ was perfect.

I am assuming my doors are hollow, so I wanted to make sure, I used adhesive, instead of nails or screws.I used a very basic trim piece, I ended up using 10 – 12′ pieces at $5.98 each (total $59.80).
