Support options for wood bar across low windows?

EDIT: I am not looking for design opinions, just input on hardware for supporting the walnut.We're renovating our kitchen, and we're planning to run a walnut bar across low bay windows as a small breakfast nook at counter height.Attached is the inspiration for what we're going for, then an outline of the space we'll be putting it in.

We are puzzled on how to support this.There is a two inch gap around the windows on each wall where we could mount brackets, but they might be spaced out too far for adequate support.

How do we finish this casing on low hanging window above sink?

My wife and I are stumped on how to finish this casing and what options do we have.Our contractor advised doing half casing and jamb and then rap tile in the inside of the casing.I attached a picture with the half casing and what our Contractor was thinking.

I also attaches photos of our kitchen and window and door casing to see how we trimed it out.Lastly we only have 31 1/2 " x 40" peice of counter top left, so not enough for a continual sill across our double windows above our sink which are 29x54.

This being an old house, it had old cabinets that were solidly put together and therefore hard to tear out.One of the first difficulties we encountered was that the old sink had a separate hot water tap, presumably to connect to the old dishwasher.Back to the problem with the hot water tap: there was no shut off.

Instead, it linked into the hot water line before the shut off to the regular faucet’s hot water supply.

After all was said and done the special hot water tap, the p-trap part of the drain, and the cold water supply all leaked, but slowly.

Not just the masonry pockets from the ceiling joists, but re-pointing and brick replacement too.As with the basement and 1st floor, we will install a layer of polyurethane spray foam (SPF) across the interior masonry walls.Damage to the masonry wall is almost always moisture related.This damage had been caused by water infiltrating into the masonry wall through the parapet, until we fixed it back in the fall of 2009.

For now, I had our mason come in to repoint the mortar joints and install the replacement .
