Can you make a custom cabinet face that matches my existing cabinets in style and color?(15 1'2" inside of face frame) It is 22 5/8" deep and 21 3/4" high.

Face frame refers to the cabinet opening.Many cabinets have a frame around the outside of the cabinet this is called the face frame.My cabinet has a face frame, but in this specific cabinet where I want to install the trash can slider the inside edge of the face frame is flush with the inside walls of the cabinet.

Convert a Cabinet into a Pull

Instead of just placing the trash can inside of the cabinet, I rigged up this pull-out trash bin using drawer slide hardware.The thickness of the wood you use to hold the drawer slide hardware depends on how far the sides of the cabinet are recessed behind the cabinet facing.

Then I was able to use the level and hang the outside parts of the drawer slide hardware.

After the drawer slide hardware was attached to the cabinet walls and the trash can platform, I was ready to slide the platform into place and use my trash can!

So I pulled out the platform, took off the drawer slide hardware, and sanded down the sides of the platform until they were parallel.

Building the Pull Out Trash Can DrawerNext I moved on to making the drawer box that will hold the cans.The last thing I did before assembly was drill pocket holes in the outside of the front and back pieces.I drilled pocket holes on the ends of the dividers then laid out all my face frame pieces for assembly.Installing the Pull Out Trash Bin DrawerI moved back inside for final install of the pull out drawer and started by mounting the 22″ drawer slides.

The last piece of the build was to relocate the drawer pull to the top of the door.
