Here’s what the living room and dining room looked like when we bought the house .They wanted something “fresh, traditional, curated, inviting, and sharp.” But they had no idea how to unite the open floor plan living and dining room.We wanted the space to feel open as a whole, but for the living room and dining room to feel like their own areas.– SaraOne big dining room conundrum the couple had was how to position their dining table, and how big they could go with it.To divide the “chair, chair, chair, chair, chair” profile that could have dominated the living room and dining room seating arrangement, a bench was implemented.

Need help redesigning my front 2 rooms!My front door opens into my dining room on left and living room on right (at least that's what I'm using them for now) I just threw whatever I had to fill the space but want to do a full makeover.How do I design my living room so that it is cozy yet still welcoming when you walk in?Do I do curtains even though a couch is in front Of the window?(note, living room needs to be family friendly and have a tv and Im happy to get rid of dining room but not sure what to make it into) Please ignore all the toys, we haven't moved them to the basement from Christmas yet!

At our old house, we only had space for 3-4 people to sit and more than half the time, we had to pull over dining room chairs to the living room to make more sitting space.They were in the living room but now obviously it fits in the foyer :) LOVE IT!The dining room walls are SO empty so I definitely need to work on that next.We hate it, lolAdjacent to the dining room is the butler’s pantry but also our mudroom; which is probably the 2nd favorite room in my whole house.You might have seen on my Instagram stories how I excited I was when our living room shutters came.

Plus, I really do think that having two sets of identical rolling doors will make my doors seem less unique.Pony walls with columns!And I can just imagine walking through my front door, seeing the pony walls with columns straight ahead, and then the rolling doors in the distance.The pony walls and columns will kind of “frame” the rolling doors, and I think it’ll make them look way more special than if I had two identical sets of rolling doors.But of course, instead of my pony walls and columns “framing” a fireplace, mine will “frame” my rolling doors.
