Here’s what the living room and dining room looked like when we bought the house .They wanted something “fresh, traditional, curated, inviting, and sharp.” But they had no idea how to unite the open floor plan living and dining room.

We wanted the space to feel open as a whole, but for the living room and dining room to feel like their own areas.

– SaraOne big dining room conundrum the couple had was how to position their dining table, and how big they could go with it.

To divide the “chair, chair, chair, chair, chair” profile that could have dominated the living room and dining room seating arrangement, a bench was implemented.

Remove the studs as well to make way for a new door header and pocket door framework.

Living and Dining Room Tour!

At our old house, we only had space for 3-4 people to sit and more than half the time, we had to pull over dining room chairs to the living room to make more sitting space.They were in the living room but now obviously it fits in the foyer :) LOVE IT!The dining room walls are SO empty so I definitely need to work on that next.

We hate it, lolAdjacent to the dining room is the butler’s pantry but also our mudroom; which is probably the 2nd favorite room in my whole house.
