A Butler's Pantry/Laundry Room Combination & Maximizing a Small Space

I’m going to have to settle for something that looks a bit like a butler’s pantry, and functions like a multi-purpose, jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none laborer.It is bound on one side by the stairs leading up to our barn room (i.e. family room) and a very small bay in the garage.

I have very little space for decorative display in this pantry, but for not too much $, I feel that wire mesh brings huge returns on the butler’s pantry look!Wall-Mount Faucet with Soap Dish: Ok, this is totally more laundry-room look, or potting-shed look, or mud-room look than butler’s pantry.

Laundry Room Pantry Storage

Option B had less storage space but was open to the living room and dining room, with a large island in the middle.Unfortunately, this layout meant that we were a little short on dry food storage space.

Luckily, we have a laundry room right off the kitchen that was just begging for some cute storage shelves.They are not the sturdiest things, but I like them because they extend your storage space and provide a good place to keep produce.

The dogs really love their little room, and when you tell them “It’s time for bed,” they run straight in there.

Remodel Project: Pantry + Laundry Room

With this space being as tight as it was I had to get a little creative.We gutted this room because the cabinets were old and outdated, the countertops were pink and so was the floor linoleum!I decided to bring in open shelves that tie in with the ones I added in the bathroom, hallway & kitchen to give us a pantry like space.

This room is tucked just around the corner from the kitchen so it made for a good place to add additional storage for food.

The Evolution of a Laundry Room to Butler's Wine Pantry

My laundry room is the only corridor from my garage to the rest of the house.I finally came to the realization that the room needed a complete overhaul.

The idea of a wine pantry (multi-purpose: wine cellar, butler’s pantry, laundry room) began to form in my mind.

I designed the wine pantry to be an extension of the adjacent kitchen, so I used leftover paint from the kitchen to repaint the walls of the laundry room.

Adding pantry shelving to laundry closet

I have a 6 foot wide laundry closet with very old appliances and some shelves on top that aren’t very useful.I’m considering replacing with a stacked washer dryer set so I can maybe get half the space to add some shelving for larger appliances/pots and pans.

Has anyone done that and do you like it?

I saw some photos online but the closets are larger than what I have.
