I love how it looks with white walls, and black doors…And I love how they look in a white kitchen…I would love for our kitchen to look like that one day… I think the dark floors makes it feel warm and homey, instead of cold and sterile.I think my husband is leaning towards the marble, and I guess I’m leaning towards the dark wood look.

And, if I did go with the dark floors – what do you think of white walls throughout the main living spaces too?

Our New Home Tour (Finally!)

Living Room and Eating AreaThe original design had a half wall between the eating nook and living room, which we removed to create a more flexible space.Here’s the back wall of the living room, waiting for curtains and paint.

PlayroomWe added the playroom above the living room, exchanging the gorgeous two-story living room windows for the room above.But when we expanded the garage to a 3-car garage it bumped out the master bathroom and gave us an additional walk-in closet.

I didn’t get a snapshot of the office that I can find, so I’ll add that into the next tour.

It’s just the right size for a small space, and the chaise it a comfortable spot to kick your feet up.

The white walls are offset by a shiny opaque, dark brown parquet.This causes that the atmosphere is neither sterile nor too dark.When you set the mix of materials, colors, shapes and styles always something to loosen.
