In today’s post, we’ll cover the best farmhouse porch ideas to make your outdoor space cozy and inviting. After all, if it’s your escape or the place you like to spend time with friends and family, you want it to be beautiful, right? There were a few other incidentals along the way like rustic decor, candle holders, and a cozy blanket but I wanted to tackle the big things first because I knew the rest would fall into place.
Rain, snow, wind, heat, humidity, and cold affect furniture and decor.
If you’re on a limited budget, I recommend 2 items for your farmhouse front porch, a large door wreath, and a doormat. Together, these two items can make a big impact and they won’t break the bank.
Pictured above and below are two neat farmhouse wreaths with pretty flowers and lettering to welcome your guests. One of the best ways to incorporate a pop of color into your porch is to add an outdoor rug.

I wouldn’t call it an outdoor rug but honestly I haven’t had any problems using it on my covered porch and I think it’s downright neat!
I bought the black and white rug below because of my dog Maggie, it has her coloring. If it wasn’t for her red collar, I don’t think you’d even see her- especially in the photo on the left.
For years we had a black wooden swing but the weather finally got the best of it and it needed replacing. This go-round I decided to go with a white swing and use decorative pillows to accent.

I bought my rocking chairs at The Cracker Barrel but couldn’t find any natural wood rockers online. I did find this beautiful oak rocking chair with a polyurethane finish on Amazon- great quality.

Here’s a nice set of rattan chairs with a decorative table to match. Another way to give your front porch a real farmhouse feel is through accessories.
Accessories like pillows, welcome signs, lanterns, and wall hangings bring everything together – they’re the cherry on top. This reversible farmhouse wooden sign works nicely for the front porch.
