About First Baptist Church of Greater Des Moines

First Baptist Church of Greater Des Moines offers an assortment of programs and ministries for the entire family. Prior to worship, all members and guests are invited to gather for Coffee Fellowship time. Our worship includes personally relevant and inspiring Bible-based sermons, traditional hymns and sacred music, and fellowship.

Scriptures and song verses are displayed on large video screens at the front and back of the sanctuary.

The Church is sensitive to concerns about COVID-19 and respects an individual’s choice to wear a mask or to request social distancing when participating in activities in the building. Childcare workers and adult volunteers are trained and criminal background checks are conducted as a part of their screening.

First Baptist has a 170-year history of helping to meet the needs of the local community on an on-going basis and for special needs. The Church takes on community service projects, provides financial and in-kind support to individuals and organizations, and offers the building as a place for local groups to meet.
