When we remodeled our kitchen last year, I may have gotten a bit over zealous… we painted, ripped the trim off the windows/doors and crown molding from the ceiling… all with the intention of putting new trim and molding back up within a couple months… And if you look carefully, you’ll notice that when we repainted the walls that beautiful airy blue, that we didn’t even go up to the ceilings because we thought we’d be putting the molding back up in no time! We decided that since no other room in the house has crown molding, that we weren’t going to worry about putting that back up.

(which of course meant that we had to finish painting the wall up to the ceiling, ugh)

We used a combination of screws, wood glue, and a nail gun to secure the boards. We ended up sticking with our original plan to paint the trim white.
