I think there is one last room of our new house I haven’t shown you-the office! We had our cabinet maker build a great desk with built-ins for it.

We also used the same natural color butcher block for the desk top as the laundry room. I knew it would be a great place to store books but I was a little stumped as to what to do with the rest of the shelves. I knew we need a piece of artwork for the blank wall above the monitor. I loved this neutral forest print with the gold frame from Old Time Pottery.

It fits the space perfectly and the gold pops with the grey. I love how their natural color goes with the butcher block and really stands out against the dark shelves. A trick I learned is to turn your books with the spine inside if you want a neutral look from the outside! I placed a couple of my home books flat against the back of the shelves and I like how they add even more interest.
