The homeowners were able to watch the home being built as they lived nearby, and made the decision to build new as they not only were young and growing family, but a previous dwelling on the property had a few too many remediation issues to conquer. The family named their youngest son after the uncle, as an homage to the man that gave so much of his life to the land.
The beams that are on the ceiling, fireplace mantel and cap, and island legs also came from the old farm house. Extreme care and hard work went into cleaning, sanding and finishing the flooring that now is installed in the welcoming foyer and office.
A stunning front entryway with chunky cedar beams and stone piers created for a robust space to sit and enjoy the farm. And though building silos is typically out of the range of our expertise, we think they made for a stunning backdrop for this rustic farmhouse.
