It’s a huge upgrade from what we had in our old small apartment, and other than the fact that it doesn’t have an alarm that sounds whenever one of my kids returns a box of cereal or crackers without closing the top first, I’ve had no regrets about its design. This well-ordered pantry was a finalist in Remodelista’s Considered Design Awards this year in the Best Kitchen Organization category. Its lucky owner is photographer and creative director Delbarr Moradi, and its designer is Megan Bachmann. Above: Open shelving means she can easily locate what she needs; her grains, pastas, and baking essentials are all stored in attractive airtight glass jars.
Above: Opposite the refrigerator is closed storage (for extra dishes and small appliances) and a sink. “They make utilitarian food items look inviting—it’s such a different concept than stuffing your pantry full of oversize boxes.”
